A cooling tower works by removing heat from hot water through the process of evaporation. Warm water from industrial equipment is distributed over the cooling tower fill, where it comes in contact with air. As air flows through the tower, a small portion of the water evaporates, carrying away heat and reducing the water temperature. The cooled water is then collected and recirculated back into the system.
